ABOUT

Cassandra Hsieh is a Brooklyn based costume designer, stylist, and illustrator for film and television.

Influenced by her label queen mother who worked in garment production and her Americana movie aficionado father who was a film editor, Cassandra immersed herself in the world storytelling through costumes.

She combines her passion for anthropology and fashion to every script and story in front of her. She draws most of her inspiration from animation, graphic novels, and all the real and unique characters of this planet earth.

Cassandra gravitates towards science fiction, fantasy, and horror where creators often transport their viewers into a completely imagined space. As a Vietnamese/Taiwainese American queer woman, she’s particularly invested in exploring the intersection between such genres and representation of the Asian diaspora and LGBTQ+ experiences.

Her most recent projects include Andrew Jarecki’s The Jinx Part 2 for HBO and Fire Island, a Fox Searchlight Picture for Hulu featuring Bowen Yang and Joel Kim Booster.
